Ready to move your domain to Trustname? Let's show you how! But first…
Perks You'll Get When You Move To Trustname
To have you sold, here are some of the benefits you'll enjoy.
Once you move your domain to Trustname from Namesilo:
1. Clean User Interface/Easy Domain Management
In this age, easy is better. The same holds true for your domain names. Not everyone finds Namesilo's dashboard as intuitive or modern as they'd like.

Namesilo's domain management dashboard looks clunky at best like something that was just slapped together.
At Trustname, we value form and function. Not only should your domain names work well, but they should be easy to manage, and you should enjoy doing that.
Move your domain to Trustname, and you get instant access to a beautiful, user-focused dashboard that simplifies all your domain management with an aesthetic theme and intuitive buttons.

On Trustname, you have access to each of your domain's management settings in just two clicks.

2. Easy Payment
Still having PTSD from the payment structure on Namesilo? Trustname is the place to be. Making payments on Namesilo is a nightmare; using a credit card on your desktop browser rarely works.

Customers often complain about getting the 'Verification Required' prompt without any real solution. And after you purchase a domain name, you still see it in your cart.

Trustname's seamless payments are the dream. Whether you are using your PC or mobile phone to purchase or renew a domain name or any other product on Trustname, the process is super easy.
And what's more? We accept payments via card, your Trustname wallet, bank transfer, and cryptocurrencies, ensuring the smoothest and quickest transactions for you.

3. Support You Actually Need
A big con of Namesilo is its incredibly poor support. Customers often complain about how their support agents don't know basic tasks or are outright rude when you make an inquiry. Also, their most active support channel is email when customers in fact want real-time communication e.g.: via live chat.

At Trustname, you get world-class support from human agents (most of whom are webmasters themselves) with decades of experience resolving domain name issues.
And what's more? We actually encourage our customers to reach out to us via live chat to ensure their inquiries are resolved quickly.

You can also reach out to us by submitting a ticket if you prefer email communication, but we don't make it your only choice, as customers of Namesilo have complained about.
Love to solve issues yourself? Our robust knowledge base and support resources have the answers to all the questions you'll have.
4. Abuse-Proof Policy
A big part of Trustname's commitment to you is siding with you when it matters.
Unlike many registrars, including Namesilo, that restrict and suspend domain names due to abuse reports, we maintain a neutral stance and will never take action against a domain name until we have done our due diligence.

A big part of our clientele are businesses in 'grey-area' and sensitive niches that are prone to abuse reports. However, we don't support illegal content showcasing child and animal abuse, arms dealing, and opioid sales.
Aside from these illegal activities, we side with our clients. We have had many customers who have been victims of orchestrated abuse reports from scammers and competitors playing foul, and we know the game.
If you are looking for a haven for your domain name, Trustname is the one for you.
5. Renewal Policies That Ensure You Don't Lose Your Domain
Namesilo is also notorious for auctioning off domains without any warning an incredible flaw given that your registrar should help you protect your domain.
Customers complain that they never received any renewal notices or heads up that their domains were expiring, their domains were placed on auction, and sold off even before the Grace Period expired.

The Trustname difference? We have specific policies we have put in place to ensure you never lose your domains to accidental expirations.
First, we encourage you to enable auto-renewal so that we renew your domain way before it expires.
If your payment method fails, we will send several emails to give you a heads up. And should your domain expire, we give you a 30-day Grace period, during which we reserve it for you at the standard price.
It’s only after the Grace Period expires that your domain may be auctionable. However, you can still renew it quickly, but you will need to contact us.
6. Unrivaled Domain Privacy
Trustname also offers the very best domain privacy in the world that's steps ahead of the basic Whois protection registrars like Namesilo offer.
- When you're registering a domain on Trustname, you can choose to use your own details or use our third-party registration where you specify Perfect Privacy LLC. as the registrant you still retain full control of your domain and can change the domain contacts to yours at any time.
This is the first layer or first tier of our Two-Tier privacy.
- On the second tier, we mask your domain's contact information from the Whois database (your own details or PP LLCs if you chose this option) with proxy details from another of our partner companies.
Why should you subscribe for your Two-Tier privacy? Your contact info is never linked with your domain in the first place ensuring the most privacy.
Also, PP LLC is the first point of contact for any legal issues with your domain. And finally, we will require three simultaneous court orders from the U.S., St. Kitts and Nevis, and Estonia (where these companies and Trustname are headquartered) to compel us to take action against your domain.
And the best part? Our Two-Tier privacy is for free along with an SSL certificate for the first year (Namesilo charges $9.59 for this).
To-knows Before Initiating Your Transfer
There are some important mentions you should know while transferring your domain from Namesilo to Trustname.
Let's see them:
Review Your Domain Nameservers
In your Namesilo domain dashboard, you can configure your domain nameservers (and if you don't, they are assigned automatically to Namesilo servers).
If you were using a different web host from Namesilo, you’d have had to update your nameservers. Your domain nameservers are responsible for directing web browsers to the IP address of the web servers where your website is hosted.
While your domain transfer is still ongoing, you won't be able to edit your domain nameservers or any other DNS settings. If your domain is linked to a website hosted by Namesilo, it's a good idea to point your nameservers to your new web host (Trustname or any other host you’re using) before you initiate the transfer.
- Transferring Your Domain Doesn't Take Your Website Along
Moving your domain name to Trustname won't automatically transfer your website. If you want to also move your website to Trustname or another web hosting provider, you would need to purchase a web hosting plan from the new host and ideally reach out to us, and we’ll help you migrate your website conveniently.
We will guide you through creating backups of your website and exporting them, downloading database files, and moving them.
- Transfer Pricing And Policy
Trustname charges a base fee of $7.77 (with our promo code) to transfer your domain name to us but this adds an extra year to your domain name's current expiration date.
Given that regular 1 year registrations cost $14.99, our transfer fee is actually a front to give you an extremely affordable domain subscription!
- Transferring Expired Domains
On most registrars, including Namesilo, you can only transfer a domain when it is active or during the grace period after it expires. If you didn't renew your domain during the Grace Period and it's now in the Redemption Period, you are going to have to renew it first for an extra fee and wait for the ICANN 60 days lock to elapse.
We recommend initiating your transfer before it expires or at least two weeks before the end of the Grace Period. Transferring it to Trustname automatically adds a 1 year minimum subscription to it.
To-Dos (Namesilo Side) Before Initiating The Transfer
To ensure your transfer goes through smoothly, you have to prepare the domain name on your current registrar (Namesilo) account.
Here's what you need to do.
Confirm The Domain's Transfer Eligibility
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the regulatory body over domain names, enforces a 60 days registrar lock on domains that were recently transferred or modified.
You won't be able to transfer a domain name until 60 days have passed since the last registrar transfer, registrant change, or change to the domain's contact details. Confirm that your domain is eligible and out of the 60 days lock before proceeding with the transfer.
To confirm your domain’s transfer validity, log in to your Namesilo account and click on 'My Account' in the header to see your product manager.

Here, click on 'Manage' under the 'Active domains' tab to access the domain manager.

For registration here, click on your domain name in the list to view all the domain information so you can confirm the last registration/renewal date.

You can also check the last recorded changes to your domain (including the Whois contact details) by clicking on the 'Most recent changes' tab.

Disable The Domain Lock
Once you have confirmed that your domain is eligible for transfer, the next step is to disable the domain lock. The Domain Lock is a basic feature offered by most registrars that prevents unauthorized transfers of domain names.
To disable the domain lock on Namesilo, head to your domain list as described above and click on the 'Padlock' icon next to the domain you want to unlock.

Click on the 'SUBMIT' button on the next page, and your domain name should be unlocked.

Alternatively, click on your 'Domain' in the domain list and scroll down to the Domain Lock settings.

Toggle the Domain Lock button off. That's it.
Obtain The Auth (EPP) Code
Next, you need to obtain the Auth or EPP code from Namesilo. You will need to submit the Auth code to Trustname, and we will use it to authenticate the transfer with Namesilo.
To view your Auth code for your Namesilo domain, click on your domain name in the list and scroll down to the transfer settings, where you found the Domain Lock earlier.

Click on 'Send Email' so that Namesilo sends the Auth code to your email address. Click on 'Skip' in the prompt where Namesilo is asking why you are transferring your domain. Keep this code safe for later.
Disable Domain Privacy
You don't need to disable domain privacy on Namesilo for the transfer to go successfully, but this is a recommended step so Trustname can confirm the details associated with your domain name.
To disable your domain privacy, as usual, go back to your domain list and click on the domain you are sending out. Scroll down to the 'Domain Contacts and Privacy' tab and look for the 'Whois Privacy' field.

Toggle the button off.
Alternatively, in your domain list, you can click on the avatar icon next to your domain.

And then click the 'SUBMIT' button on the next page.

Don't worry, we'll automatically turn on your domain privacy once your domain gets to us. That's it.
Confirm Domain Contact
With your Whois Privacy disabled, you should be able to see the associated domain contact information.
Now you would need to confirm that your domain contact details are up to date and that you have your notifications turned on for your domain email address.
When moving your domain to us, if you choose to use your own contact details, Trustname will send you an email to confirm the transfer request. However, if you used Trustname's pre-defined contact, we won't need to verify this information as it's already verified.
To confirm your domain contact details, click on your domain in the domain list on Namesilo and scroll down to the 'Domain Contacts and Privacy' field.

For registrants based in the EU, your email address will be redacted to comply with GDPR. You can reach out to Namesilo's support to find out the exact email address you used for your domain name.
With Namesilo, even if you don't disable domain privacy, any email Trustname sends to the proxy details will be forwarded to your domain's associated email.
Now, you're all set to initiate your transfer at Trustname!

Failed Domain Transfers?
If you run into any issues while transferring your domain, these are the common reasons why domain transfers fail.
And how to troubleshoot them:
- Wrong EPP Code
If you input an incorrect Auth or EPP code, we won't be able to transfer the domain.
We recommend copying it directly from your Namesilo email and pasting it into our required field instead of manually typing it out.
- Not confirming domain eligibility
You won't be able to transfer a domain name within 60 days of the last registrar transfer, registrant change, or change to the domain's contact details. Confirm that your domain is eligible and out of the 60 days lock before proceeding with the transfer.
However, on Trustname, you can push your domain name an unlimited number of times to another Trustname user (assuming you are both using our Two-Tier privacy) since the registrar and domain information never change.
- Transfer lock
If the Domain Lock is still turned on, Namesilo won't release the domain name. Check your domain settings to ensure the Domain Lock is disabled, as shown earlier.
- Check your emails for approval requests
If you used your own details on the Trustname side while transferring it, you would need to verify them as your domain is transferred. Look out for emails from us!
